2024 Annual Report
We are leaders in our workplaces, our communities, and in politics. In 2024, we entered a new era of worker power, uniting to deliver middle-class wages that keep up with the cost of living, safe union jobs, a secure retirement after a career of serving our communities, and to protect universal public healthcare for all.
We are Stronger Together
Letter From The President
In 2024, it was the honour of a lifetime to be named SEIU Healthcare president. Starting as an organizer 20 years ago, I have dedicated my career to building worker power, and over the past year, we’ve made important strides to move that work forward.
We collectively flexed our power by defeating Bill 124, which opened the door for us to win historic gains across all sectors at the bargaining table. We still have a fight ahead of us to ensure all healthcare jobs are good jobs, but our wins over the last year have raised the floor and showed employers that we will fight for every dollar to ensure you get what you deserve.

Thank you, Sharleen!
After twenty incredible years, Sharleen Stewart ended her tenure as SEIU Healthcare president. Throughout her presidency, she has been a dedicated advocate for our rights, achieving higher wages, pandemic protections, and critical pay equity decisions.
She will continue serving as the International Canadian Vice President, focusing on key political challenges at the national and provincial levels. Sharleen is committed to advocating for a fair and just care economy and remains passionate about ensuring that care work is recognized and rewarded with the economic security we all deserve.
